How To Create A Channel Settings File For The Tidradio TD-H8 Using Chirp Next & Repeater Book

The configuration i will use for this is aimed at UK Licened users.

You will need chirp next installed, if you dont have it already, please download from Chirp Next.

You will also need my stock config from the downloads section, In this tutorial i will use the frequency unlocked version. DOWNLOAD

You will need to extract the file using winrar or win zip to your computer.

The stock image contains default frequencies for UK PMR channels 1 to 16, 2 Meter simplex Frequencies and 70cm Frequencies.

Firstly open up chirp.

Then we open the stock image in chirp i posted above,

You then select Radio in chirp, then query source, then select repeater book

We then enter our Country, in this example mine is United Kingdom, we need to enter our local town Longitude and Latitude, for this example i will use my own QTH location, Wigan. You can find this by asking in the google search engine.

Next, we select ‘Limit Bands’, we will choose 2 meter and 70 cm for the quansheng.

Now we select ‘Limit Modes’, in the UK we select FM.

Select your preferred distance, in the example we set to 100 miles, this will import repeaters within 100 miles of your location but will open in a new tab on chirp programming software.

You then copy all, select number 1 in chirp, hit ‘ctrl + A‘ to select all channels and then ‘crtl + C‘ to copy the channels.

We will then switch to the tabs back to the stock img file, scroll down to the free memory channels, in this case its channel 90.

On channel 90 select ‘Crl + V’ to paste the channels.

Then we select, ‘File’ from the top Menu bar, Then select ‘Save as’, create your img fier name and save as.

Once saved we not hit the ‘Radio’ button in chirp and select ‘Upload to radio’.
